Congratulations to Rick “Hardtimes” Spigelmyer for winning the November 2020 JOTM Contest!
Everyone knows how I feel about all the “Ducking of Jeeps”. I know it’s harmless and suppose to make you happy but it’s just not my thing. I’m always happy anyhow.
September there were a group of LSJC members that went to the Palo Duro Challenge in Amarillo. We went out the day before to register and I unloaded the Jeep to get ahead start the next morning. Came out Friday morning and this is what I found……Yes I been “Ducked”. I’m not calling any names but I do know Jennifer and Branden Barnett disappeared for a while from where we were staying and even tho Mitch Chapman wasn’t there his name was brought up.
Best part I guess……they made me wheel all day Friday with the duck. You could hear other groups on the CB talking about the duck. Everyone thought it was hilarious. That’s alright…….it’s all about the fun and a fun time is what we had.
Congratulations to Kyle “JeepOps” Cossel for winning the October 2020 JOTM Contest!
This photo was taken a few weeks ago on Imogene Pass, near Telluride, Colorado. As you come down from the pass headed toward Ouray, CO, this outcropping sticks out from the main trail and is just wide enough to drive out on.
This picture almost didn’t happen. As we started up the trail from Telluride, the ignition actuator failed so that we could not start the Jeep. We ended up tearing apart the steering column and starting the Jeep with a screwdriver for the weekend.
This was my first “overlanding” trip and I can’t wait to get out there again. While we were in the area, I was able to get Jeep Badges of Honor for Ophir Pass, Imogene Pass and Engineer Pass.
Congratulations to George “Gadget” Rice for winning the September 2020 JOTM Contest!
The picture was taken July 2020 in the Grand Teton National Park. We purchased the Gladiator in June and took it on a long drive vacation to Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton, Ouray and Silverton, Colorado. We drove 3600 miles and averaged 24mph. The Gladiator got us back into a Jeep and a small pickup. We are happy campers with the new Gladiator and aren’t planning on making any mods to it and it fits our needs for now. We took it on several off-road trails in Ouray and Silverton and it preformed great. Thanks for adding us (George & Bennye Rice) to Jeep Of The Month Club. 2020 Gladiator Overland.
Congratulations to Rae “TJLegacy” Cram for winning the August 2020 JOTM Contest!
This was taken during the LSJC Father’s Day Run 2020 out at Gilmer. We took our own path and ventured new trails our first time together since Covid happened. Therapy after being locked up for so long and was well worth it!
Congratulations to Stacy “Bigbird” Horn for winning the July 2020 JOTM Contest!
June, 2019 SMORR LSJC trip.
This was a ledge no one wanted to climb so I climbed it! The Jeep is a 1998 XJ (buggy). Custom long arm 4 link front and back suspension on 18 inch race runner air tubes. Wheelbase stretched 13”. Stock 4L with AW4 transmission coupled to an Atlas 4 speed, Dana 60 front axle with Detroit locker, rear is a 14 bolt with a spool. Now on BFG 42 stickies, on TR bead locks. PSC hydro steering and winches front and back. It was a fun and different build,
Congratulations to James “NVRDUN” Foster for winning the June 2020 JOTM Contest!
This picture was taken during one of the LSJC Veterans Day Runs at the Hot Springs ORV Park. For those of us who know this park well you will know exactly where this was taken. We were all having a great day at the park and I decided to try my luck on Bailie’s Boulders. In the picture I am taking the far right hand line on the exit. I tried the left but just could not make it up. Can’t wait to go back..!
Congratulations to Claudie “vanburi” Grayson for winning the March 2020 JOTM contest!
This is from the Sweetheart run in marble falls at the hidden falls adventure park. I can’t remember the name of the trail(wet n wild maybe) and this was a bypass to give you an idea how difficult the actual obstacle was that we faced. I was first in line behind Rick(Hardtimes) and found the skinny pedal a little too tempting.
